Facebook is a platform where one can connect with relatives and friends he does not necessarily have to know.
Connecting with this category of people means one has granted them access to know a lot about him through his posts since they are public and anybody can see them.
Nevertheless, he could need to hide one or two of his posts from some selected friends for reasons best known to him. But because he does not know how to do it, he goes on to publish the post.
Because of users like this that have always wanted to do it, we have come up with this article to teach them how they can hide posts from friends on Facebook.

Just as you know that Facebook is like a window through which friends can view you, not everyone deserves to see what you share on the platform for many reasons.
For example, as a child of an influential person, you may need to hide what you share on your Facebook, especially when you notice you are being monitored.
Apart from that, you may need to hide your post if you want to publish something about the new girl you don't want certain people to know about.

For example, if you secretly went out with your best friend's gf, you may need to hide the pictures taken during the outing from your friend to avoid the commotion.
Different Ways to Hide Posts of Facebook
There are three ways of hiding posts on Facebook. The first is through audience setting, which can be before or after publishing the post. The second is by going through the Privacy Setting.
- Changing Post Audience (Before or After publishing the post)
- Privacy Setting
There is no big difference between the two methods. The only distinction is that one is easier than the other. You don't need to go to the Facebook setting to do the first one. However, it is a must to navigate to the setting before the second one can be done.
How to Hide a Facebook Post Using the First Method
• Compose your post
• Click on "Audience" under your username and sit right on top of the Post Box.
• It will show six different audiences, including the Public, Friends, Friends; Except, Specific friends, Only me, and Close friends (they serve different functions).
• Select "Friends; Except"
• A "search box" and list of your "friends" will show.
• Type the name of the friend you want to hide the post from into the "Search Box."
• Check or Tick it when the name appears
• Save
• Done
• Publish your post.
The first division is "before" you publish the post. The second subdivision, which we will teach now, can be applied "after" the post has already been made. In cases where you forgot to hide the post while posting it, you can use the second subdivision.
• Go straight to the specific post on your wall
• View the post and click a three-dot showing on top of it
• Features for notifications, to save a post, share a post, tag photo, change the audience, view album, edit a post, archive, move trash, and copy link will appear.
• Stop on "Change Audience" and click
• Audiences like Public, Friends, Friends; Except, Specific friends, Only me and Close friends will show (they serve different functions).
• Select "Friends; Except"
• Search the friend's name in the search box
• Check or Tick the name when it appears
• Save
• Done.
How to Hide a Facebook Post Using the Second Way
• Navigate to Facebook Setting
• Scroll to Privacy
• Click on "Who can see your future post
• Choose " Friends; Except"
• Search the name of the friend
• Check or Tick the name
• Save
• Done.
Disadvantages of Hiding a Post on Facebook
The only disadvantage is that the selected friends would never see your posts again. Although you selected them for only one post, the feature would apply to all your posts.
